7: Alternative layouts giving bigger cockpit

Still pondering over interior and cockpit layout. I want the cockpit to big as big as practical and the cabin is only for two. Possibly move the main cabin bulkhead forward slightly and reduce the depth of the bridge deck. That will give a longer well to the cockpit so three could sit side by side. The chemical loo would have to move, possibly right to the front.

The interior could have a bunk either side and a galley across their fronts. Bow could then be storage, but a bit unreachable. I wondered if the layout could be asymmetric, with one bunk going right into the bow, and the other back against the bridge deck. Galley could be against the bridge deck and there should be room for an anchor locker alongside the toe of the forward bunk.

Or there could be a vee berth forward and a short sitting couch opposite the galley. The Centreboard case would be in the way. Alternatively, twin bilge boards could be used, as in my current Winkle Brig. This would make the boat heavier and possibly affect the performance. Nothing is perfect.

These sketches show what I want to propose to matt Newland later in September, to see what he thinks is possible.
